Dr. Colette is a woman who has a sincere passion for serving the Lord and His people. Her journey with the Lord began during her childhood when she served as an Acolyte at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in New York City. Her desire for the Lord grew throughout her adolescence and her hunger to experience the more of God subsequently drew her to a spirit-filled church. She accepted Christ as her Savior on September 13, 1993, at the age of 14. However, like so many youths, she entangled herself with the world and strayed away from the Lord. Five years later she found herself on a college campus unable to resist the Lord any longer. In the spring of 1998, Colette rededicated her life to Christ. Under the leadership of Pastors Daniel and Gisselle Bonilla at Hosanna City Church in East Harlem, she grew up in the things of God and received a strong biblical foundation that would influence her life and ministry.
A New York native, Colette relocated to New Jersey in 2004 and subsequently joined Christian Love Baptist Church in Irvington, NJ under the leadership of the late Reverend Ronald B. Christian. Recognizing the call of God upon her life, she was invited to be a part of the ministerial team in December 2005 and subsequently licensed into ministry on December 19, 2008. In February 2010, Colette became a member of For1Vision Church under the leadership of Pastor Rodney Smiling . She was later ordained as an Elder by Pastor Rodney on January 31, 2016 and was an active member of the ministerial team, serving in various capacities. In December 2020, Colette transitioned from For1Vision and now serves at Heart of Worship Church (HOW Church) in East Orange, NJ led by Pastor Desmond and Lady Larfreda Yarborough.
Colette credits none of her accomplishments to her ingenuity, but to a host of mentors, spiritual leaders, Pastors, relatives and friends who refused to give up on her, saw greatness when she couldn’t see it, pushed her when she needed it, and gave her the opportunity to do what God called her to do. Colette’s greatest joy is found in empowering God’s people. Her ministry is centered upon this vision: to equip the Body of Christ, through the teaching and preaching of God’s Word, so that all may be empowered to pursue God’s purpose and live an abundant life. “For He has come that we may have life and that we may have it more abundantly” (John 10:10b).
